Pavita is a lifelong advocate for gender equality. She is currently the Executive Director of Girls Health Ed, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance gender equality by fostering healthy, informed, and empowered decision-making in adolescent girls and young women from underserved communities worldwide through intersectional and gender-transformative comprehensive health and sexuality education. She is a thought leader on gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, feminist movements and leadership, and the relationship between the health and education of girls and young women and female empowerment. Pavita has spoken about her work in women’s empowerment at such high-level events as the UN Women Innovation Mastermind and the C20 Summit and has taught health education workshops to girls in the United States and Kenya.
